A Message from the Secretary-General
Dear Delegates and Advisors,
We are so excited to welcome you to the sixth iteration of the District of Columbia Model United Nations (DistrictMUN)! DistrictMUN VI will be held on Georgetown University’s campus on March 28 and 29, 2025, offering a premier Model UN conference for middle school students. In continued pursuit of our mission to further youth international relations education, we are thrilled to announce that DistrictMUN VI will be a two-day conference! It will feature more substantive sessions than ever before and offer delegates a more dynamic and immersive committee experience.
Our staff is committed to making this conference the best experience possible for all of our delegates and advisors. With ten committees from a variety of regions and time periods, DistrictMUN VI continues to be dedicated to fostering global awareness while providing delegates with opportunities for personal growth and skill development. We strive to ensure that participants leave with strengthened self-confidence, enhanced diplomatic and public speaking abilities, and a deeper sense of global citizenship.
Best,
Theodora Lyne
Secretary-General of DistrictMUN VI
Why DistrictMUN?
60 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE
DistrictMUN will build on nearly six decades of experience running premier conferences. Since 1963, Georgetown International Relations Association has been dedicated to achieving the highest possible quality of committee available for high schoolers in the world’s premier student-run high school Model UN conference, North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) and the #1 ranked fall collegiate Model UN conference, National Collegiate Security Conference (NCSC). 60 years of delegates have taught us how to create excellent committee substance and provide you an unforgettable conference experience.
EXPERIENCED GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY STAFF
DistrictMUN will be staffed by Georgetown students enrolled in one of the most respected international relations programs in the world. In addition, many of the staffers are members of Georgetown's own travel Model UN team, one of the most highly awarded delegations in the nation currently ranked #2 in North America. No other staff could provide the same level of expertise and dedication that these students bring to the table.
