Programming Policy
All advisors participating in programming are doing so at their own risk. The Advisor Code of Conduct is expected to be followed while participating in programming. DistrictMUN, Georgetown University, and the Georgetown International Relations Association (GIRA) do not take responsibility for any theft, accident, or emergency that occurs while participating in programming.
Advisor Responsibilities Relating to DistrictMUN COVID Policy
Advisors shall encourage delegates to submit their COVID-19 policy form as quickly possible once it is available. They will ensure that delegates submit their form on or before the deadline of March 18th.
Advisors will remind their delegates that they must be vaccinated in order to attend DistrictMUN, that exemptions to the vaccine mandate must be requested before March 11th, and that DistrictMUN reserves the right to deny any request for exemption. Should a request for exemption be denied, the delegate would either need to get vaccinated or not attend DistrictMUN.
Advisors will also remind their delegates that they must receive a test prior to coming to Georgetown’s campus. This test must be administered no earlier than March 30th. DistrictMUN will offer non-exhaustive guidance about testing opportunities in the DMV area.
Advisors will confirm that their delegates do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 prior to arriving at Georgetown’s campus. The day of the conference, advisors will submit a COVID-19 Symptom Attestation Form, the link to which will be provided to advisors before the conference. Advisors shall ask all of their delegates if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. Advisors will attest that all delegates either have no symptoms, or that any delegates with symptoms will not be attending the conference.
If a delegate demonstrates symptoms of COVID-19 during the conference, advisors should alert the DistrictMUN Secretariat. The DistrictMUN Secretariat will evaluate the concern and then instruct the delegate if they must isolate themselves from the committee and programming. If delegates require quarantining, DistrictMUN will make best effort to provide adequate accommodations but cannot promise quarantine space. If DistrictMUN finds the delegate to be a public health concern and does not have quarantine space, we reserve the right to ask the delegate to leave campus. Advisors will be responsible for chaperoning delegates that must leave the conference early, finding alternative chaperones, or coordinating their transportation.
Finally, advisors must make it clear to delegates that they will be required to wear a mask during all indoor programming.
CODES OF CONDUCT AND Release FORMS
The Advisor Code of Conduct must be submitted to each advisor before the conference. All forms must be submitted by March 24th, 2025. DistrictMUN requires all participants to sign and abide by this Code to guarantee a respectful and positive learning environment.
