A Message from the Secretary-General

Dear Advisors and Delegates,

Greetings from Washington, D.C.! We cannot wait to welcome you to the fourth iteration of the District of Columbia Model United Nations (DistrictMUN), held at Georgetown University’s Campus on April 5, 2025. We hope to offer a premier Model United Nations conference for middle school students. DistrictMUN will bring substantive excellence, academic rigor, and educational programming. DistrictMUN will host delegates from across the US in innovative and rewarding committees.

Our entire staff is incredibly passionate about making this the best experience possible for all of you. Through participating in high-level debates and starting engaging dialogues through guest speakers, we hope that delegates will find this conference instrumental in igniting their curiosity for international affairs and the world around them. All of our Georgetown University undergraduate staffers share in our dedication to shaping the next generation of global leaders, and we will work as hard as we can to equip middle school delegates with a robust educational experience.

Best,

Anahita Asudani

Why DistrictMUN?

WHY DISTRICTMUN?

DistrictMUN will build on nearly six decades of experience running premier conferences.  Since 1963, Georgetown International Relations Association has been dedicated to achieving the highest possible quality of committee available for high schoolers in the world’s premier student-run high school Model UN conference, North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) and the #1 ranked fall collegiate Model UN conference, National Collegiate Security Conference (NCSC). 60 years of delegates have taught us how to create excellent committee substance and provide you an unforgettable conference experience.

60 Years Of Experience

DistrictMUN will be staffed by Georgetown students enrolled in one of the most respected international relations programs in the world.  In addition, many of the staffers are members of Georgetown's own travel Model UN team, one of the most highly awarded delegations in the nation currently ranked #2 in North America. No other staff could provide the same level of expertise and dedication that these students bring to the table.
